Second screen interactive fan experience enhances UK Sports Network matchday offerings
LEXINGTON, Kentucky – In a football season that is sure to be unlike any other in program history, two football legends from Kentucky will help Big Blue Nation connect with each other and break the game day with the launch of. Experience the UK Football Watch Party in a completely new way, presented by Coca-Cola.
Every Saturday during the football games in Kentucky, Wildcat legends Jeremy Jarmon and Kash Daniel will host a livestream that features special guests and features commentary on the game, stories from their careers, and interaction with fans. The UK Football Watch Party, presented by Coca-Cola, will be about the Hot microphone and allows soccer fans to enjoy the television broadcast while enhancing the experience by connecting with Jarmon, Daniel and special guests live on a second screen. Fans streaming on HotMic will use proprietary sync technology to ensure that everyone attending the watch party is viewing in real time. HotMic users simply press the ‘Sync’ button in their app and HotMic will calibrate itself to the transmitted audio to ensure that the BBN provides a fun, spoiler-free second screen experience. The stream will also appear on the University of Kentucky Twitch Channel and the UK Sports Network Facebook page.

In addition to co-hosting the UK Football Watch Party presented by Coca-Cola, Jarmon is returning to the pregame radio show Don Franklin Auto Countdown to Kickoff along with Christi Thomas and former Kentucky quarterback Dusty Bonner. The 2020 season marks the trio’s third year together on the show, which will be broadcast to nationwide radio partners on the UK Sports Network two hours before kick-off. The Don Franklin Auto Countdown to Kickoff pregame show will also be on location at Kroger Field for all this season’s home games, and a live stream of the show will be available on UK Football’s Facebook page and UKathletics.com.
Once game promotion begins, The Voice of the Wildcats, Tom Leach, will be handling the play-by-play call for Kentucky football games on the UK Sports Network for the 24th straight season. Former Wildcat Jeff Piecoro will return to Leach’s broadcast partner and Dick Gabriel will return as a side reporter. Gabriel will also host the post-game show The Ruoff Mortgage Wildcat Wrap-Up, which features post-game analysis, an interview with a player of the game, and post-game comments from the head coach Mark Stoops. Darren Headrick, voice of Kentucky baseball and women’s basketball, is also returning to the broadcast team as a studio host.
In preparation for each week’s game, fans are encouraged to subscribe to the Behind Kentucky Football podcast, hosted by Curtis Burch, which introduces Big Blue Nation to the UK football program through discussions with coaches and players.
